New to Radio Control? Looking to Join a Flying Club?
Are you new to the hobby of radio controlled flight? Not sure where to begin? We can help! The Charlotte Aeromodelers, an AMA recognized Gold Leader Club, is a group of individuals who build, fly and enjoy all types of radio controlled aircraftfrom electric, to gliders, to giant scale. We were founded in 1972 and are sanctioned by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), a national organization that promotes sport aviation. We have several flight instructors that can help you with everything from building your first model, to breaking-in a new engine, to getting you to your first solo flight.
Throughout the year we have all type of events to satisfy all levels of interests.
We also like to say we are family friendly. We have facilities for the young ones to play, spouses to relax, and a large flying area. And, we are alcohol free.
Visiting the Area, or Passing Through and Want to Fly as a Guest?
Guests are welcomed. Feel free to contact one of the officers and let us know you are coming and we will give you a big Charlotte Aeromodelers welcome to fly as a guest. Just be an AMA member and obey the safety rules. We would love to meet you and swap those big flying stories.
Take a look at our club, and know, new members are always welcomed!!!
