New Members Welcome!!!
Important Please Read: Our membership year is transitioning from a Jauary 1 - Decemebr 31 fiscal year to a July 1 - June 30 fiscal year as of December 1, 2009. Therefore joining now through May 30, 2010 the dues are prorated to $100 of the annual dues of $200. As of June 1, 2010, new members will join for a full year at a rate of $200 and will be afforded membership through June 30, 2011.
How To Join
We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. SEE AGENDA TAB Our membership is on an annual fiscal basis, and all of our members are required to belong to the AMA, which includes many benefits including liability insurance. (If your hobby dealer does not have any AMA applications available, we can provide one for you). Membership in the Charlotte Aeromodelers includes full access to our flying field, participation in various activities throughout the year, and the opportunity to meet with others who share your interest in modeling.
To Join
To join the Charlotte Aeromodelers: 1) complete an application and submit it with your payment to the address on the application; 2) read the safety code found below and sign the affidavit attached to the rules and either return a signed copy with your application or bring it with you to the club meeting; 3) attend the next club meeting where you will be voted on for membership.
New Incentives
1. If you join December 1, 2009 to May 31, 2010 our dues are 1/2 of of the annual dues of $200. If you join now, your dues will be $100 plus a $100 initiation fee for a total of $200.
2. We also offer a Try and Fly program for prospective new members who want to try us and the sport out. Here's how it works - the new member prospect pays 1/4 of the existing annual dues and flies for 90 days. At the end of the 90 day Try and Fly period the prospect can elect to join or walk away. If the prospect elects to become a full member, they will pay the remaining dues for the existing flying year period plus the $100 initiation fee.
